Medical Entrance

Medical entrance examination is the key to being a doctor and that is what they all say. Actually, it is firs the key to entering the medical school. The reason why there has to be an exam is to measure the capability of the student to learn and not to waste all the information and the knowledge that she will get from the medical school. Of course, what is being measured here is his or her ability to already understand complex things related to science and math. The medical entrance exam is not much different from the major entrance exams in other countries which all aim not to waste time and effort of the student when he gets to the medical school.
Entrance examination for Medical field is often focused on biology, chemistry and it also has mathematics with computations and the like. In some countries, they also have a separate examination paper for aptitude test and that means the capability of the person to understand medical related subjects may also be different from his capability to understand the basics about life. This is the reason why it is very significant to do the examination to determine already his possibility to graduate from the university after taking the course and also pass the future medical board examination.
There are of course different manners of conducting the medical entrance depending on the country and the name of the university. There are those which conduct it in three hours and there are other requisites as well prior to taking the exams. The questions are often composed of different parts including the subjects on biology and the different sciences. Some countries on the other hand require for higher passing mark while others only require just fifty percent of the total number of questions. Obviously, for top notch universities, there is a harder examination and a higher percentage of passing. It will be like passing through a needle’s eye when you pass the test.
Medical entrance examination is the key to a good medical career but if course, first thing should be to pass the test. A good pointer which can help a student to pass the medical entrance test is to have an easier grasp of the sciences and review the subjects which will be given during the examination. A one day preparation may not be enough though because that will be quite short. The review must start from the high school years.

All India Pre-Medical Test/ Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT)
All India Pre-Medical Test / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination:
The AIPMT is a college entrance test held once in a year in India. The organizer of the exam is CBSE, Delhi. This test is for the courses MBBS and BDS. This test allows students to get admissions in different colleges in India. Currently, 15% of the entire seats in all colleges maintained by the Indian union, state governments, municipal corporations, or other Indian authorities, except the states AP and Jammu and Kashmir are kept back for candidates who succeed this examination.
The main goal of this test is to provide seats to all the students of all the states in India. This is one of the tests which are not based on the reservations. But from the year 2006 the SC, ST and OBC reservations have introduced in AIPTM by the ministry of human resources.
Two levels of exam are conducted in this test. Initially preliminary is conducted generally on 1st Sunday in the month of April. Secondly Mains is conducted in the month of May. In all pre-medical exams this is the one which is most awaited and respected. AIPMT is comparable to AIEEE, which is also conducted by the same board CBSE for entrance to engineering institutes in India. In the year 2009 the initial level of examination was held in the month of April 2009 and the final (mains) was conducted on 10 May.
The model of AIPMT is changed. These modifications will come into effect from the year 2010. Some complaints on the irregularity of the subjective mains made it totally objective same as the prelims. Reservations in this test have been introduced as per the government in only the central institutes. Only OBC reservations are implemented. Nearly 2000 MBBS and 250 seats in dental are introduced in AIPMT, but ranks nearly up to 2500 can keep hopes for a good and respectable seat in a reputed institute. NCERT books are used for the preparation of this examination.
The admit cards for this examination would be sent by the board to the address mentioned in the application form by the post. These admit cards are mandatory to write the exam. So they must carry them without fail. If you didn’t receive your admit card to the address you mentioned in the application form them there is another option to get you card i.e. download your card from www.aipmt.nic.in and print it. Show the card during the test.
